MTA White — 2 applications

Mineral Trioxide Aggregate, MTA-Angelus is an endodontic repair cement composed of several mineral oxides.

It consists of fine hydrophilic particles.

When mixed with water it first takes on a gel consistency, then becomes solid and hard at the end of the procedure.

Indications

• Root canal and furcation perforations; internal resorption
• Retrograde canal filling
• Direct pulp capping and pulpotomy (in permanent and primary teeth)
• Apexification and apexogenesis
• Used for apical plugs before canal filling when the apex is wide

Advantages

• Releases calcium.
• Does not lose its properties due to moisture in oral tissues.
• Highly alkaline.
• Has antibacterial properties.
• Low solubility.
• Biocompatible.
• Compressive strength is 44.2 MPa.
• More radiopaque than dentin and bone.
• Setting time is shorter than similar cements (15 min).
